SIMPHIWE DANA is a great performer with amazing style and beauty. The Afrosoul singer radiates selfconfidence and poise. The Eastern Cape-born muso believes that beauty is something that comes from within and shows if you are happy and content.

WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE BEAUTY TIP?

Happiness. Happiness makes us look more beautiful. As Audrey Hepburn

once said, “Happy girls are the prettiest girls”.

WHAT’S YOUR BEAUTY REGIME?

I’m blessed with good skin. The weekly exfoliation and a monthly visit to the beauty clinic also keep my face looking fresh. I try to never sleep with makeup on as it can clog the pores and cause pimples.

WHAT’S IN YOUR MAKEUP BAG?

I have everything; I’m a makeup junkie.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A PERFUME?

I don’t like strong, overpowering fragrances. My perfume must be subtle and slightly woody. I’m a big fan of jasmine.

WHAT’S THE BEAUTY ITEM YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Perfume and sunglasses. A perfume has the power to evoke memories and tell others a little bit about who you are within a few seconds. I also like sunglasses because they

help me pull my look together.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE BEAUTY ICON AND WHY?

Retired supermodel and fashion icon, Iman Abdulmajid comes to mind. I’m fascinated by her ageless beauty. She paved the way for black models to be treated equally in the beauty industry. She is blessed with good genes and inner beauty.

WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE BEAUTY RULE?

I drink lots of water. Drinking water has amazing health benefits not only for your skin but for your hair too. It also boosts mood and brain power.

HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR COMPLEXION SO FLAWLESS?

I watch what I eat and keep oily food to the minimum. I eat lots of vegetables and I mostly like them raw. I also recommend a bit of exercise.
