Spicy chicken livers

Cooking on a budget doesn't have to mean dull boring food

Ingredients (serves 3)

  • 1 large onion – chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1teaspoon  chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon of curry power
  • 250 grams chicken livers
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Fry onion in vegetable oil until it becomes soft then adds your curry powder and two tablespoons of water and stir to coat your onions in the curry powder before you add your garlic. * Remember garlic burns a lot faster than onion so fry the onion first. Add chicken livers, chilli powder and salt and pepper to taste. Fry on a medium heat for 15 minutes or until livers are tender.

Tip: add more water as you cook to (use a tablespoon so you don’t pour too much) to get more gravy with your meat.

Serve hot with pap or buttered rolls.
