Her love for music became a method for her to express herself following her move to Europe at a very young age. In 1997, Stella Mwangi joined an African musical Youth group known as The Rise. As a member of the group she performed for Nelson Mandela during his visit to Norway for an AIDS eradication campaign.

In 2002 she teamed up with the group DNC and recorded among other songs "Crazy", "Feeling Love" and "The Swing", which were picked by the Position Music and Choice Tracks (based in L.A) as soundtracks on world famous TV series and movies such as: Save the Last Dance 2, American Pie 5, Redline and the series; CSI New York, CSI Las Vegas, Ghost whisperer, Big Shot, Scrubs and Army Wives.

The following year she joined Big City Music Group and recorded with Senegalese Hip Hop duo Wageble on their debut album Senegale. The same year she launched her music career in Kenya with the song “Get Ready”, then later released the second single “Happy” featuring Kantai. 2008 saw the release of her debut album “Living for Music”.

She recently released her second studio album Kinanda. Apart from the music this songbird is also an Ambassador for Utdanningshjelpen (Education Help Foundation). The organisation distributes educational aid to children in several countries namely Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Mozambique and also Palestine. She is 3 time Channel O music Video Awards nominee in the Most Gifted Female, Most Gifted Dance, and Most Gifted Video of the year categories in 2011.
