Summer fruit salad

Serves 2

This is packed with vitamins, minerals and fibre.

2 guavas, cut into small cubes

1 ripe pear, cut into cubes

1 red apple, peeled, cored and cut into cubes

1 small banana, sliced

freshly squeezed juice of 1 orange

5 ml sugar

Mix all the fruit together and pour the orange juice over. Sprinkle with the sugar and mix lightly. Serve after a meal as dessert, or over Bran Flakes for breakfast.

Variation To make a hot salad, bake the fruit salad at 180°C for 10 to 15 minutes and serve with custard for dessert or over cooked oats for breakfast.
