IT'S spring time and have some fun. Many people tend not to pay attention to their hair, but this shouldn't be the case.

Here are a few things you need to do to make sure that your hair is still in top condition even after the season.

AVOID SEA WATER

Sea water and wind can damage your hair. It can cause it to be coarse,

dry and frizzy.

TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM STYLING AGENTS

Avoid gels, hairsprays and other harsh styling agents while you sun bathing. Skip shampooing for one or two days. Use shea butter or coconut oil to keep your hair soft and shiny.

AVOID COLOURING YOUR HAIR

Don’t colour your hair before going out as the sun's UV rays will likely change the colour

of your hair.

WEAR A SWIMMING CAP

Because your hair is like a sponge, it will absorb less chlorine and water when it’s wet. Apply a little conditioner to your wet hair and put on a swimming cap.

PROTECT YOUR HAIR FROM THE SUN

Too much sun exposure may lead to faded colour, split ends, and brittle, dry hair. Make sure you wear a sun hat or use a light scarf to wrap your hair. This will also protect your scalp from being burnt by the sun.

USE A LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER

You can use a leave-in conditioner to protect your hair from being damaged by the blazing heat and stay in good condition.

CHOOSE YOUR PERFECT SPRING STYLES

It's advisable to choose a style that requires low maintenance. Braids

and cornrows are perfect for this period. But don’t forget to moisturise

them daily.

DON’T NEGLECT YOUR DIET

Diet plays a very important role in having healthy hair. Everything you eat is reflected in your hair. Like the skin, the hair needs a proper diet as well.  Have fruits and vegetables which are full of vitamins and antioxidants, whole grains for minerals, nuts and

seeds for vitamins, and meat for iron.
