2014 - ANC will overwhelm

03 January 2014, 17:33

The Year 2014 is the year South Africans are celebrating their hard-earned freedom and democracy. This freedom and democracy didn't come easy, like manna from heaven as narrated in the Bible. No, freedom and democracy were not delivered in a silver platter.

Freedom and democracy came after a protracted struggle and much sacrifice. At the head of this struggle was the ANC, no wonder it is favoured with the custody of freedom and democracy - it has been thus since the first democratic elections in 1994. These are the elections that gave the country Mandela as its first democracy president.

Those who played no role or were against the struggle for liberation like the DA have tried to lie their way into the annals of struggle history. When this lie couldn't walk far because of its short-leggedness they tried to steal Nelson Mandela by claiming that he belonged to all South Africans!

They embraced Madiba, but rejected his beloved ANC. In their little-mindedness they disregarded the fact it is the ANC that made Mandela and not the other way round.

The people of South Africa are not stupid - they know their history and can differentiate their ANC grain from the chaff. It is against this background that the ANC oozes confidence as the election day  comes nearer.

The ANC is once more destined for another overwhelming victory. The people of South Africa cannot trust their freedom and democracy with anybody else except the ANC. They don't take their freedom and democracy for granted - for them only the best will and their best is the ANC.

The Year 2014 is the Year of the ANC Overwhelming Victory.
