Every year in the month of December, millions of people commit themselves to a lifestyle change for the coming year. We are just on the third month in a new year but people are already failing to practice the list of "their" resolutions.
studies proves that 80% or more will fail their resolutions within the first months or never practice them at all.
Some of the most popular resolutions that most of us commit our selves on and which i believe are still relevant are as follows:
- Improve physical well being (eat healthy food, lose weight and exercise more, drink less alcohol and quit smoking, quit bad habits)
- Improve finances ( get out of debt, save money and invest)
- Improve education (study, read books, and learn a new language)
- Improve spirituality (Pray more, be close to God)
- Reduce, Re use, Recycle
- Take a trip
- Spend time with family
People should never commit to lifestyle or habit change if it is not necessary, resolutions will appear as a punishment. The other reasons that most people fail is that they never set realistic goals/resolutions. Lack of resources, motivation and interest can be contributors to failing self, also, commitment to our jobs, families and other unforeseen circumstances are some of the things which consume our time for our set goals.
The year is 3 months young, failing is not an option and taking a challenge today might change the rest of your life, start small and finish big.
