Christianity repeatedly undergoes full-body cavity searches on this forum. Without initiating a fatwa against thine self, lets examine the Islamic code and see what heavenly delights are in store for the faithful.
First we need to set the scene. 600AD Prophet Muhammad was on a mission to gain recruits to his new religion (and at the same time unite Arabia), sourcing candidates from the Arab Bedouins.
He needed an enemy to fight against, very important. Enter, pagan Arabs (and to an extent, Jews). He then needed a reward worth fighting for. Enter, Islamic heaven.
Bear in mind that the desert dustbowl offered little in the way of women, water, wine and food for the Bedouins (yes, they did drink wine). It was a very hard existence. Also know that they were to all intents and purposes unsophisticated and illiterate.
Hmmmm, mused Prophet Muhammad. . .how best to entice these Bedouins to fight to the death? Let. Me. See. . . wine, women and song maybe? A luxurious life in heaven? Yes, that will do it!
It was a win/win for the Bedouins. Win the battle and keep the spoils and women. Die in battle and check straight into a heavenly penthouse-suite, packed full with young virgins and goblets of wine.
Me, exaggerate?
Quran: “And young full-breasted maidens of equal age, and a full cup of wine.”
Quran: “As for the righteous, they surely triumph. Their gardens and vineyards and high-bosomed virgins for companions, truly overflowing cup”
Or perhaps a few verses from Tirmzi, volume two?
“Every man who enters paradise shall be given 72 houris; no matter at what age he had died, when he is admitted into paradise, he will become a thirty-year-old, and shall not age any further. A man in paradise shall be given virility equal to that of one hundred men.”
“A houri is a most beautiful young woman with a transparent body. The marrow of her bones is visible like the interior lines of pearls and rubies. She looks like red wine in a white glass. She is of white color, and free from the routine physical disabilities of an ordinary woman such as menstruation, menopause, urinal and offal discharge, child bearing and the related pollution. A houri is a girl of tender age, having large breasts which are round, and not inclined to dangle. Houris dwell in palaces of splendid surroundings.”
Still not convinced that Muhammad used sex as a lure to entice new recruits? Try this verse from the Hadith:
“There is in paradise an open market wherein there will be no buying or selling, but will consist of men and women. When a man desires a beauty, at once he will have intercourse with them as desired.”
I find these verses ironic. Travel to Arabia and all the women are covered and booze is banned.
