In Genesis 1.26 God says, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness”. How should this be interpreted?
a) - There really is only one god but he is not omniscient as this was an error. A god who never made a mistake never made anything.
b) - Obviously the Hindus are right and the Jews, Christians and Muslims are wrong to claim there is only one god.
c) - There is a Mrs God and her five children.
d) - Who cares? There is not a shred of evidence that any god or gods exist and the Bible is full of confusing contradictions'
e) - I am confused. I don't know. I don't want to know. I believe anyway. God works in mysterious ways.
According to Genesis 1:25 God made the animals before humans.
“And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and the cattle after their kind ... And God said, Let us make man ... So God created man in his own image.”
But in Genesis 2:18-19 God clearly creates humans before the animals
“And the Lord God said it is not good that man should be alone; I will make a help-meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them.”
How should this contradiction be interpreted.
a) - God is a very confused old man who suffers from alzheimers .
b) - Mrs God is a very poor proof reader.
c) - This is a beastly difficult question that can only be explained away by a Doctor of Theology who spends years making up implausible excuses and multiple definitions of the words “beast”, “cattle” and “field”.
d) – I don't understand why god went to all this trouble only to obliterate 90% of every kind of beast and fowl in a series of mass extinction events.
e) - I am confused. I don't know. I don't want to know. I believe anyway. God works in mysterious ways?
Genesis 1:3-5 says God created light, then separated light and darkness on he first day..
“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”
Genesis 1:14-19 says god did not create the sun (which separates night and day) , the moon and the stars until the fourth day.
“And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.”
How should these contradictions be interpreted.
a) - God works for Eskom.
b) - Satan tricked the authors of the Bible into making a complete hash of an already implausible story.
c) – Santa's (check anagram) sleigh and the reindeer caused a solar eclipse.
d) – This is a trick question dreamed up by atheists to put the inerrant Bible in a poor light.
e) - I am in the dark. I don't know. I don't want to know. I believe anyway. God works in mysterious ways?
