New year comes with new resolutions; But every year-end, if we are given the grace to survive, we witness just how we actually didn't hold on to our own resolutions. I long gave up on setting up unrealistic resolutions, what am I saying here! The truth is I gave up on setting up any resolution at all.
As 2012 kissed us goodbye we looked back to the things that happened to us...Did we make any progress? Before even asking such question we should define what we understand by progress, and understanding has always been our real problem! Don't get me twisted, when I say "our" I mean us as human beings... Progress means positive development, advance of human society, motion towards something, in these early days of 2013, do you as a person see any of that?
During new year's eve I went somewhere to spend my last 2012 hours and as 2013 erupted, some very young kids were busy playing with firecrackers, jumping of joy and loudly screaming, I looked at them and said to myself, do they know? Or it's just the expression of that nice childish innocence we all once had until growing up became a necessity! If only we could all come together and have just one new year resolution, I'm sure if we did, before the end of this new year, we will fulfill it.
Let's at least make this year a peaceful one! Happy new year!!!
