A look at Reality Vol. II

07 September 2012, 12:46

A LOOK AT REALITY, VOLUME  II.

My retort to the comments that will be levelled at me after this article has been read is that “I am not a racist, never have been and never will be”. I was brought up by liberal parents mand my Father was constantly watched and hounded by BOSS( Bureau of State Security) in the Apartheid days. Sweeping generalisations are as evil as the racist, him or herself. I do understand why these racist comments are the answer to any criticism, the people who have been kept uneducated and uniformed have no other form, or the words to argue a valid point.

Let us all please understand what Democracy is all about.

Democracy is not about who is in power, but who does the best for the people and the country. Have a look at the UK,EU,Australia, USA and many other Democracies, when the populous gets fed up with governments behaviour they get voted out.

The change of Government is unlikely to happen in South Africa as long as the incumbent rulers keep the voting people in the dark. The shift is happening but the uninformed are brainwashed into the belief that a change in Government will lead to the return of Apartheid.

The statistics from the last Local Government Elections are interesting. There are about 22,000,000 registered voters, of these about 8,000,000 voted pro ANC and 5,000,000 against, which means 9,000,000 did not vote. The ANC claims to be the majority party and the figures above prove they are not. (The ANC were recently happy to announce they have reached a million card carrying members). Without the SACP and Cosatu’s support the ANC are, at the very best, a minority government and a tribal dictatorship.

FINANCE.

If you care to have a look at the SARS website you will read that there are now about 5,600,000 registered tax payers but this does not mean that they all pay tax. About 1,200,000 registered taxpayers are below the Tax Threshold, a further +/- 1,000,000 are government employees, that do not create wealth and simply keep recycling tax money.

Those facts bring the number of real taxpayers down to 3,400,000, which again is not a true figure, because, the real taxpayers, many of them are business owners, and are registered in different categories. The real taxpayers number about 2,000,000.(Verifiable in the information on various websites.)

In 2010/2011 fiscus the SARS income was about 672,000,000,000.(672 Billion) Which means that each of the assumed 50,000,000 legal residents rely on  only 4% of the population to pay the taxes that keep the country, sort of, afloat. This is ignoring the 30 billion that goes missing annually(The ANC announced these losses.)

This means that each South African citizen needs about R13,000 of Government spending, per year, to have their demands met. All paid by 2,000,000 taxpayers.

The breakdown of the 672 Billion is as follows:-

PAYE 37%

COMPANY TAXES 22 %

VAT 33% (most of VAT paid by the middle and upper classes)

FUEL LEVIES 5% (33 BILLION)

DUTIES 3%

I may be a few % out but have a look at the SARS website.

A large bite of the available taxes goes to the Department of Education, which is clearly not working. If the Government does not educate the children, the population will grow and resources run out.

Look forward to starving and uneducated youth who expect everything with no input other than anarchy.

In my opinion the dreaded “K”word no longer refers to skin colour but the lack of social responsibility and barbaric behaviour. All races can be described as so.
