Dear God, an innocent life has been taken away, a life that was so beautiful and innocent; she did not to deserve to die like this, not in a manner that she was killed, a crushed skull, and four bullets in her body. Lord you see what has happened down here, if you are a just God let it be seen, let no truth go undiscovered.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone so I’ve been hearing preachers saying, well this is very different, the manner in which she was killed has left the nation in shock and forgive us if we are not forgiving enough.
Some say she must’ve done something to trigger his anger, I do not care what she did she did not deserve to die in a manner in which she did.
This has come to show what kind of a nation we live in, that we as women need to fear the ones who are meant to protect us, the ones who are meant to not bring us harm but shield us from harm.
Yes Oscar, your responsibility was to love her as your lover, protect her, not bring her any harm, but the same hands that were supposed to love and comfort her left her with a crushed skull.
For the family of Steenkamp, may you bring healing and peace. In this time of hurt, confusion and disbelief may you strengthen them. She had so much to look forward to in life, but it was stolen from her. She was robbed such a beautiful future.
This has left us as a nation in shock and some women fear for their lives, may he be an example that there is justice in our country, and in this world we live in.
This is my sincere prayer, let justice prevail.
