In the few months I have been visiting news 24, numerous claims were made that Christian plagiarized from other religions, like Paganism.
Some users got upset when atheism was compared to a religion, and even more when there was claims that is was termed as “Satanism”.
Every now and again we get the remark “Ahh, That is a Pascal's Wager …”
I quote, thanks to Wikipedia…
“The Atheist's Wager is an atheistic response to Blaise Pascal's Wager regarding the existence of God. While Pascal suggested that it is better to take the chance of believing in a god that might not exist rather than to risk losing infinite happiness by disbelieving in a god that does, the Atheist's Wager suggests that:
This states that you should live a good life and be a nice person, but leave religion alone. If God is loving and kind, he will forgive you for not believing in him and reward you in the afterlife. If God punishes you despite having been a good person all your life then god is unjust and you shouldn’t worship him.
Please read it all, I nearly fell of my chair when I finished it.
In some of my articles, especially the “The Burden of Proof” one, I was blamed of having false arguments.
I was stunned to find out that atheists were not as educated as they appeared. The one was Bruning “The Blackhole “ van Kriekenbeek and I think Velvetnose.
Argument can only be valid and invalid, but never false. A person can argue from a false premise making the argument invalid. Then there is a false dilemma…
“"if you are not with us, you are against us"
Atheism is against Religion, yet “plagiarize” from the religious. The atheist’s Wager is proof of this.
So by the atheist own rule of thumb atheism is a religion, since it “plagiarizes” from other religions.
What I found most “disturbing” is that although it is an atheistic response, it allows the principle that God is a possibility/probability, yet denies it to the best of their ability elsewhere…
So the atheistic claim of not being a religion, is the same as sueing someone for not owning you some money…(Credit to Bruning mentioned above)
And everyone please forgive him, when Bruning gets on his high “Equus”… He is lonely, insecure, and needs lots of hugs and kisses… So when you see him, please give him a warm welcome…
