I couldn’t help but chuckle a bit, I have not seen a taxi driver with a tie, well taxi drivers usually wear t-shirts and jeans and they drive like a maniac that’s nothing new.
But this taxi driver was different from the rest, he had a tie but that wasn’t the only thing that separated him from the rest, he respected his passengers, which is rear from taxi drivers, because they used to being mean, and they swear quite a lot if you are short with money they will treat you like dirt, that is a story for another day.
But with my past experiences taxi drivers are a different kind of people, but before I paint all of them with one brush let me tell you how this one was so different from the rest. He did not cut the queue or overtake from the right side of the line, not once did he stop where he was not supposed to like all the other taxi drivers who even have a sticker at the back that reads “Don’t follow too close, I stop anywhere”, he waited at the robots as all the other cars, he did not overtake or try to do what other taxi drivers usually do, I was impressed but not all the passengers were.
Some of them were so irritated, they moaned and groaned about how late they are and how he was wasting time. They complained because he was not like all the other taxi drivers, there was something different about him, and that is the reality with life too, when you as an individual become exactly that an individual, when you become you not everyone will be impressed. If you are not part of the mediocre that everyone is part of than there is nothing to like about you, when you start celebrating who you truly are, no one will want to be around you because you are so different and so unique, well you know what stuff that shine anyways.
Today because this taxi driver decided to put on his tie and suit and be his best, my perception about taxi drivers has completely changed. It has changed from this disrespectful people who always want to get their way, to not everyone is the same.
I had already painted them all with the same brush, but today a new leaf was turned, I was really impressed to see such service and care.
Today I hope you bring out the best you, I hope you allow your shine to shine bright, that you don’t stop pursuing your dreams because people are mocking them, put on that tie and be different from the rest.
