Reading the article about the ANCYL wanting Land Grabs and the resulting comments in response, is both alarming and challenging.
On the one hand the persons making the comments are all IT able, and that would suggest to me that some form of education is present in their thinking. In such an environment why is there such an absence of understanding - Is it all out stupidity or is there an underlying necrosis in thinking?
Then on the other hand I find myself doing some mathematics - Follow me with this one.
1994 to present 2012 equals 18 years - So if you started school in 1994 (New Gov was in charge) you will have had equal access to every school in RSA, and would have had an additional 6 years to complete a tertiary education and gain some economic experience to boot - assuming of course that you were of sufficient maturity and wisdom to see the benefits of a completed education.
Against this assumption why are we seeing such a chasm between reality and expectation - A reasonable assumption could be that you were more interested in politicising the school system than you were in learning, and thereby depriving yourself of a future!!
So now that you have failed to take advantage of a system established to empower everyone, you seek to disempower those who have engaged in a developmental process because you are not sufficiently mature to do otherwise.
Such an approach will result in confrontation on a scale that defies logic and there will be no winners. This is not about black and white, farmer and non farmer, it is about wisdom, maturity, and common sense!!
