It was now the 8th day after the beginning and God has successfully created heaven, the earth, man and woman and everything else.
As he was freshly rested he got out of bed with a smile and decided to improve his creation.
As he is capable of knowing the future and because there could be many futures depending on what options he took, he decided to look into the future using the current parameters he set. He wanted to see how well his recently created earth turned out in the year 2013. He was shocked with what he saw. 200 billion fat, naked, lazy people all over the earth just sitting around all day and God himself slaving to feed the hordes. The number of people just got more and more each day because nobody was dying as these were the parameters set by god. Because animals were created to die from the begiinning, but man was not, they just kept on pro-creating and consuming with no end in sight.
God did not know what to do. He never experienced this kind of anxiety before . He realised that he made a mistake but what could he do to rectify it? He knew he could not tell Adam and Eve that they will now die to make space for their children to live as there was not enough space on earth.
After many days of thinking, God devised a plan. He would create a reason why Adam and Eve should die (after all he is the creator of good and evil). So, he created a tree which he labeled very prominently so that Adam and Eve could see it and know about it. He named it the tree of knowledge and placed it right in the middle of paradise so that they could not miss it. He then explisitely told then not to eat from the tree because they would surely die. He then left but he did not really leave as he is omnipresent. So, he watched to see if they would eat from the tree. However, they ignored the tree as there were so many other trees which had great-tasting fruit.
After about a week of watching them, he knew he had to do something else because his plan was not working. So, he send the snake to talk to eve to try to persuade her to eat from the tree. But alas, eve just told the snake she is not going to eat from the tree because God said she should not and told the snake not to bother her again.
By this time God was getting desparate. What could he still do to get eve to eat from the tree? He did all the right things after all..He placed the tree on a very prominent spot (he could have placed it on Alpha Centauri but then eve would not be able to reach it). He got the snake to try to persuade her (after all the snake had no option). So what was still missing? How could he get eve to eat from the tree? And then it hit him..he always knew the answer! So, God looked into the future to see how he fixed the problem in the past and then he knew exactly what to do.
So, he gave Adam and Eve Free Will and then sent the snake to entice her again and this time, lo and behold, his plan worked. Suddenly eve listened to the snake and ate the fruit and gave the fruit to Adam to eat. After Adam had eaten, God came out of his hiding place and banished them from paradise. He also implanted the death gene in them so that they would now die. He futhermore let them realise their nakedness as he was tired of looking at naked people as it was not really his thing.
God was very relieved that his plan finally worked. So, he looked into the future once again to 2013 and saw there were only 7 billion people on earth. He also saw that they now dressed themselves and even assembled cars to drive, tv to entertain them and many other inventions. And best of all..they had jobs so that he did not have to continue feeding them.
God looked at it all and whispered softly..."Population Control, Original Sin and Free Will - now that is something I must remember"
