I think a lot of us, including myself, until recently, were oblivious and ignorant to the fact that there was (allegedly) rigging of the Idols shows. Last year, I spent thousands on voting, not just a few Rand, but really thousands that ran into 5 figures at minimum.
If I had the right contacts, I would follow, to have all of these rigging allegations investigated but one person alone, not even a handful of people, can carry through with this investigation on their own.
What I do appreciate about all these articles is that at least, even if only some, the public are being made aware of what is (allegedly) actually happening.
It did cross my mind that maybe Mnet have learnt a few lessons from the past and that it’s possible that this year, they want to make sure we do have a worthy winner otherwise the public could become dismayed and not support the winning idol after the show which will also cause a loss not only to Mnet but also the recording company.
If THIS is the reason, it is a pity they're making their chosen winner so obvious. It must be very disheartening for the current idols contestants, surely they are also picking up on all these allegations, could cause them to not perform as well as they normally would. (I hope not).
Like many others, I too, sent emails to Mnet but I had no response. I want to know what’s going on, taking my money when a winner has already been chosen is like stealing from me. We get warned by our financial institutions to be careful of scams, there are so many around, why should we not be alarmed by all the articles regarding (allegedly) Idols rigging.
Hey, I like the chosen one, think he’s very talented, why would I waste money on voting if my favourite is already the winner? Knowing who the winner is, this season, I can sit back, relax, don’t have to support anyone, watch the show without anxiety, my mind at rest because I KNOW the chosen one is going to win anyway.
Just wondering though, where’s the fun in that?
