Questioning Dr Eve
Dear Dr Eve,
I have read the article on the notion that firstly, you have been raped. I am so sorry to hear it also happened to you, and then any other person for that matter. I do though have a few questions that I need clarifying on this whole issue of rape/ abuse and pornography.
I would like to know if you do know or have considered that many a porn stars are really girls and boys that have been trafficked into another country, different from their own under the pretences of a job and then used in these movies?
I would like to know how do you bring together the notion that you stand for the family, but yet wants kid’s to be able to watch 3-somes and all this anti-family movies?
I would like to know as a rape victim yourself, have you ever considered that pornography might have the same effect on kids as abuse itself, and that porn actually tantamount to abuse?
I would like to know, on the back-drop of the scourge of rapes and murders in our country, how do you see your role as a healer of the nation?
Then I need to clear my throat : As a rape victim myself, I am puzzled by the fact that you can even consider that porn would help this country in it’s search for healing. I am puzzled at the thought that someone of your stature and scope or than clout could be so callous in announcing that you were raped on the same platform as Top TV’s application to air these Porn channels.
I honestly believe you have an agenda to do just that. What is might be, only you will know. You are the very first, and I mean the very first victim of sexual abuse that is taking this route, and it does make me uneasy as to who you really are? I am not a reader of your columns, cause I always felt it to be useless, and now I begin to understand why [Just my opinion].
I have read your article on your Top TV revelation, but still cannot make sense of why you supported the application. I do know there must have been a lot of pressure on you to vote either way, but what I would like to know is how much Top Tv paid or was about to pay you for your support.Ido understand that sport stars do adverts and get paid big bucks, therefore my question ?

The fact that one person shared her view of abuse, upset you, so that you had to show another angle of abuse? C'mon doctor, there is only only angle of abuse and it is power. Porn is all about power, the power of the male genital. In my view porn is nothing more than a deception from the real family and love. Humans are visual beings, and therefore is it of utmost importance what we see, watch and visualize. Anyone watching porn is infected by the urge to have SEX. That sex is behad with someone who consent or someone who did not. Why do you think so many children are sexually abused? I am talking about 2 year old's. I will tell you why, cause they cannot consent, they do not have the ability to fight back. I would like to add a saying I heard from a very good friend and it goes like this " Wanneer die bloed sak na den penis, die verstand sak na den gat" - Now this is evident in all the cases of men going around outside of the bond and have sex. I do believe the very same thing goes when anyone watches porn. If the circumstances allow, porn will drive abuse and crime.
I need you to know that I do not share your view on the Top TV’s application, and will never do. I also need you to know that I also do not share your view that porn can help solve our problems in the country, where abuse is concerned.
I need you to know that I will be vocal in campaigning to stop your column, wherever I find it.
I would really like you to respond on an open forum, like this.
Lastly, I do think you owe the South African public an explanation about what it is you stand for, and why.
I hope you read this letter in the spirit it was written, with no harm intended, but for the purpose of clarity only.
I pray that the dear Lord will help you in your future endaevours and show you the way to go.
