To all South Africans: I am truly remorseful that I used my vote to declare His Excellency JG Zuma President of the nation. Looking back, I had no alternative because he was the candidate our liberation movement, the ANC, put forward as the suitable man to run this country.
I must reiterate that there is no party better than the ANC in terms of policy, blah blah blah. I also doubt if any other party was given a chance it would be able to do better than the Congress of Africans.
Hitherto, notwithstanding, albeit, let us look at the future with promise as we head to Mangaung in December to decide the next candidate for the country’s teenage presidency. Let me remind you of the 12 Scouts who were sent to Canaan to do market research.
Ten of the dudes came back with a report that said, “Eish, there are rulers out there; with all state resources and wide-spreading networks, we surely cannot unseat them. There’s Mdluli, Mthethwa, etc.” However, the two others, young men wet behind their ears, brought a different report. “We have never seen such a land so full of promise, let us go and unseat the bandits and send them packing.” And so it was.
All I can say is that, in the midst of all what is happening in our country, let us not despair. We have the power to create a change. Let us be like Caleb and Joshua and see opportunity where others see problems. I mean, you have to agree, in the eyes of Caleb and Joshua, South Africa is a beautiful contry. Yes, South Africa, alive with possibility.
I remain, your Tavern Preacher
