An open letter to our President

21 September 2012, 15:08

Dear Mr. President and the ministers,

I am one of the many citizens of this beautiful country.

I would like you some questions, how do you feel when you see all the homeless people in our country? How do you sleep while the rest of us cry? You have made a lot of promises to the people of this beautiful country, yet some have not been delivered on, do you really think we are dumb and blind? How do you and you ministers dream when there are so many people that did not have a chance to sy goodbye to a loved one? (A loved one that was murdered?) Can you and your ministers even look the citizens of this beautiful country in the eye and tell us why this country is in the state it is in?

Do you and your ministers even know what the words hard work means? Hard work is earning minimum wage with a baby on the the way, or rebuilding your house after the fires or floods has taken them away. Hard work is also scrapping and begging to put food on the table for your children. I really do not think you, Mr. President or your ministers has any idea what the words hard work means.

It makes me sad to think you Mr. President and all your ministers are sitting in your luxury offices and houses with your body gaurds while the citizen of this beautiful country has to fight to survive, the crime, the poverty, the corruption and the bad service delivery. I wonder if you and your ministers will survive one day as an ordinary citizen? You promised all children will have access to education, yet we are almost at the end of 2012 and there are still children that have no textbooks or that has no schools. The innocent citizens in this country live in prisons while the corrupt and the criminals rule the streets.

How many more rapes, murders, hijacking ect will it take for you Mr. President and the rest to wake-up and see what is going on???

Can you tell my why Mr. President? Can you and your cabinet walk one day in the shoes of an ordinary citizen? I suppose that would be to much to ask of you, wouldn't it?

A concerned citizen.
