An open reply to Zion

An open reply to Zion

You made an allegation in your article “The weathering stone” that I was involved in. If you have to, reread the article that I placed which answers these allegations and to which you have evaded the issues and rather attacked me. I was even threatened by Bianca-Anne. Here is her comment: Please be reminded of recent CASE LAW and now I am going to spell it out to those that don't know: Proceed with the slander against Zion and I will sue you for slander. I will proceed with a criminal case and with a civil case...Ask certain friends on News24 that have already received their notifications that should they proceed, action will proceed. This is small minded to keep on Zion. First rude remarks regarding a Jersey, then personal attacks on his lady-friend, then rude remarks about his late wife (my mother), then about Percy...Seriously people should stop harassing Zion - he is not up for graps..leave your boy-crushes

Nowhere in the article did I slander you, your wife or children. I did however refute that I have or am planning to write anything about my time on the mines.

I also refuted the fact that you saw me on either the 13th, 14th or 15th August as I do not live in Welkom at all.

The description and apparent photograph that you claim to have of me is also not true. I do not walk with a limp, my eyes have not being red as you now state, if they ever were.

As for me saying that you are lying here is the reply that you objected to: Irish Mike: Zion, once again I find you making brash statements with regards to the mines and the Free State mines in particular. I worked there from 1973 till 1999 and, yes there were some crazy people, but not the way you are portraying the situation.

These sort of funnies you will get in all walks of life so to make the statement "I have noticed this type of religious fanaticism was, during the 1980’s, prevalent and in vogue on the Free State Goldfields." rather disconcerting and not only applicable to one region and type of employment.

Tell your story but please refrain from running down a certain portion of the population as there are some very proud people who are associated with the mines and are not ashamed of earning a living deep down underground. You also managed to earn a good living and now pension from that same hole in the ground.

And this was your reply: Zion: I* do not owe you anything and believe still you are living a delusion. why don't you write something then so I can lie and rip it to pieces. for more exposure please state what mine you worked on.

Clinton also had a similar thought: Clinton: Once again Zion you re-hash incidents from many years ago and don't give the mines credit for the changes that have happened in the last 20 years. Your stories are as old as apartheid - time to move on and get over the past.

As far as the little village of Copperton I asked you in that article if you believed that the companies who mined there are still responsible for the upkeep of the area when they have no more interest. I however incorrectly mentioned Prieska on which you attacked me and did not address the issue. The same question is applicable to the Free State Goldfields. I remember Copperton well as I was there in 1976 for a job interview.

The second article that I placed was with regards the witnessing of accidents. I made a statement that there are three sides to any story. My side, your side and the truth, here is an excerpt from it: I have written several articles relating to the mining industry and posted on NEWS 24. In every single article I checked that it was factually correct, In every incident which occurred in those articles mentioned I was an eyewitness or at the most arrived at the scene soon afterwards. Or received a full and up to date information referring to the incident. – This is where the wheels start to fall off. Ten eyewitness’ will see an incident happening and you will get ten different stories. An eyewitness was present when the incident occurred; to arrive at the scene afterwards does not hold too much water as things could be changed to suit the situation.

Not a single article was made on the hearsay of others. In some cases I have been accused of lying about the facts or the authenticity of an article. – This is a complete contradiction to what was stated earlier on - Or received a full and up to date information referring to the incident – just as a reminder.

As for me stalking you, please go back to that article as I cannot go back to all your articles and you will see that I have never stalked you. I just commented that you and you friend entered Bargain Books and then left after a time. You have suggested that we get together for a coffee at Mug and Bean but sorry to dissapoint you. You might have noticed that I was all alone as I drink with my friends.

Just to give you something to think about. From articles written by you the following:

Pay Day!

:)We know which Industry that is... This was one of the comments placed.

When I started school in 1957 it was discovered that I and several other pupils were left-handed.

The mountain

My very first view of the great Helderberg  mountain struck me with full force at the end of 1963.

The “ steps” were about 3 metres apart and the rock crumbly:- such trivialities did not in any way detract from a standard 6 mentality.

Swaland blitz

Swaland Blitz took place in 1973 but had little to do with military exercises

Sorry mark In 1973 I got married and that was just after my return to civvie street.

Sins of the fathers

I have two sons, aged 43 and 48 yrs old.

From these four articles we can only deduce that you made a typing error or started learning about the birds and the bees at a very early stage in life.
