This article takes a look at the funny side of those annoying types we encounter in the office. Pitchforks away, only smiles permitted :-)
There are many annoying personalities and habits in the office, people who make you want to gag, scream, shout, throw something out the window...you know those people, right? Do you think you have any annoying office habits? Let's look at the most common office habits that annoy millions of people:
-The early-bird. This person gets in very early and starts annoying you by phoning you to ask the most annoying questions like “what time will you be in, I want to run over some figures with you…” I’d like to run over some figures too…starting with yours!
-The office idol. Singing or humming loud enough for everyone to hear (and usually off-key). Where’s the mute button, someone?
-The office jockey. Playing loud music (from a radio, computer, cellphone - even with earphones on). Controlling Volume Levels On Your Device 101.
-The loud, annoying cellphone ringtones. For instance, the ringtone could be a tin-can instrumental version of your favourite song.
-How about the person who leaves their cellphone on their desk and goes into a 2-hour meeting while their mom/wife/husband is urgently trying to get hold of them?
-Loud talkers (especially those who are too lazy to walk across the room). We don’t all need to hear about your new set of golf clubs or that you are going to a spa at the weekend. And must you give your housekeeper instructions for dinner loudly on the phone so we can all hear?
-The kitchen messer-er who leaves the kitchen like a pig-sty. If there is a sty in the office kitchen…cry!
-The food thief. What’s with taking food out of the fridge that does not belong to them, especially when it is labeled....who does that anyway??
-The office gossip - sure, we may enjoy hearing the occasional juicy story but must you make it your career?
-The verbal diarrhea sufferer, you know, the one who makes you regret asking them "how are you?" They will tell you EVERYTHING you don't want/need to know about them, including full details about their children, pets, cars, latest acquisitions, health, etc. And as a bonus, they update you...daily...
-The know-it-all. Wow, this person can really drive you round the bend! You mention anything from investment in Argentina to having gall stones removed and they know it all! They know who drives what car, who got a raise, w There is a fine line between being well-informed and just being annoying!
-The “moaner-lisa”. Never happy, never positive, always complaining about something. Yikes!
-The health freak. Don’t give me that disgusted look as I dig into my burger….you know you wanna sink your teeth into it! And don’t tell me how 200g of chocolate is going to add 7.34kg on my hips either.
-The sloppy eater. Drooling, slurping, spilling, dropping, then looks up and you see a blob of mayonnaise on the side of his/her mouth….This one will make you lose weight just from watching them eat. Eeiuw!
-The stinky-food eater-er. Who told you boiled eggs, raw onions and tuna in the office is a great idea anyway??
-The slob. Bad breath, body odours, bad hygiene habits, leaves the toilet dirty, messy desk (leaves a sandwich on their desk for days). Enough said.
-The fart. This one sees nothing wrong with burping or farting in public. I’m not your friend, don’t do that.
-The communicator. You leave a piece of paper at the copier, they know it was you, but they send an email to the entire office. 8 minutes later, another email comes from the communicator requesting all staff to refrain from eating lunch at 11am, and later, another email requesting all staff to rsvp about the year-end function which he/she is not involved in organising… Annoying! You just wanna send out an email requesting all staff to refrain from emailing all staff….but that would make you the new communicator.
-You. Yes you, I’m sure you annoy someone somehow…ask your colleagues
Have you encountered any of these? Which ones grind you up the most? Which one are you??
Have a laugh, we all need one sometime!
