As I am writing this article Apple is spends +/- $ 10 million a day on Research and Development, according to this article $4 billion will be allocated for 2013 : http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_increases_its_r_d_budget_by_500_million-news-5917.php
This tells you aside from the fact we work for the wrong company that Technology is growing at a rapid rate. I swear at blink of an eye a new device is launched, there I blinked again and there is a new OS or device
So what happened to those individuals that really don’t want to keep up with Technology do we become those elder people who look so confuse when you are on FacePage or those of us who choose not to jump at the newest toy just wait for the Timeless Toy
Fashion and Technology are not so different
They both have R&D budgets, both have designers, 1 have a prototype and the other a sample
Both have a fancy launch on the Catwalk
And don’t forget the marketing and beautiful models
But not everyone keeps up with fashion, we acknowledge new trends but we don’t go and max out our credit cards to be in the “ in crowd “
Generally most people go for the timeless look
So why don’t will go for the timeless technology, there are versions with better features always
But do we use those features or simply feel it is cool to have it.
The great minds of today can create a device which can have all the features imaginable but why is there no device like that?
I will tell you, ever notice the latest tooth paste ad or Razor blade advertisement
It is always a new feature that is just a minor add on, same with most products
For Most companies profit is the key but long term survival over a long period is even better
That is why 1 feature is released at a time and not all at 1 time.
Example new razor on the market with 2 blades, then the following year same razor with extra blade, rebranded and promoted with new name. Same thing with technology
Let’s try timeless technology or am I getting old?
