We are young, fun, bubbly and we enjoy life to the fullest. That's what we are, what we want is what we get.
Born frees is what they calls us, yes we are free, we have rights and we sure do practice them but we do forget that those rights come with responsibilities. One thing we lack is to be responsible, the very most important thing that goes hand in hand with our right.
The very first and popular right we know is the Right to say No, we use it very often and in most cases we use it in a wrong way. The correct way maybe when someone forces himself or herself on you then you can say no, not when they say stop doing wrong things and change your ways then you say no.
Fun is what we love, our lives are being shaped by the media, things we see on TV has a huge impact on how we choose to live our live. We are portraying the music videos worshipping our music idols, we want to be just like them, we dress like them, walk like them, and even sometimes behave like them. Not really realising that we losing our own selves in the process.
So they say we the Born free. We party till the next day, yes! We also smoke and when we are all drunk and high we tend to engage in unprotected sex and that results in a higher rate of teenage pregnancy, HIV and AIDS and STI's. Free from apartheid, but not free from growing, and the first thing we need to understand in order to grow and be responsible adults, is that time waits for no man so we better move with it, we bound to do mistakes but we should learn from them.
Never blame anyone for our wrong doings and when using our rights we better use them in a right way along with the responsibilities. So are we really the lost generation of our people?
