The government thinks that we are all stupid and they continue demonstrating this over and over again. They treat us, the citizens of this country like children and think that we are not smart enough to differentiate between right and wrong. What is more disturbing is that they continue to taint the beautiful image of our South Africa and present our country as a country of brainless idiots. They continue embarrassing at every opportunity they get and quite frankly (if it was possible), I think if we want to be taken seriously we need to ban our public representatives from speaking to the media.
Minister of public works, Thulas Nxesi and his comrades released the report on Nkandla and once again they did not disappoint. They continued proving to the world that as far as they are concerned ‘South Africans are stupid’. They said that there is no swimming pool built in Nkandla but a fire pool which will be used for firefighting purposes, no Amphitheatre but a retaining wall, the need for paving because of high heels, a chicken run because of sensitive security equipment and neighbors being a security risk, but expected to be loyal tuck-shop customers – absolute hogwash!
Ms Phiyega, in justifying the need for a fire pool said “No fire brigades in Nkandla. Best thing we know is to take the bucket put it in water and pour it on the fire” I wish to see the president and his family use 20 litre buckets to fight a fire in one of the rondavels that is situated a good distance away from the pool. It is disturbing to think that Ms phiyega as a national Police Commissioner thinks this way. The money used to build this fire pool could have covered the cost of a state of the art fire-fighting system. Who in this century spends millions to build thatched houses and still depends on buckets to fight water? Only Ms Phiyega can do that. Maybe the reason the police are not winning the fight against crime is because of Ms Phiyega and her backward thinking.
The department of Education has always been accused of underperforming and non-delivery, but the president never took action against the minister. There is a shortage of classes and teachers, textbooks are not delivered on time and instead of improving the quality of education the ministry lowers the standards so as to improve the matric pass rate. Is our government deliberately trying to breed a nation of under-performers so that they can continue feeding us hogwash knowing that our knowledge levels are not up to standard?
What do our ministers tell their kids? What do they teach them? Do they tell them the same things that they tell us? It must be embarrassing to be a son or a daughter of a minster in the Zuma cabinet.
