Greetings Afans. I think I have your religion figured out a bit more since my last article.
There is a movie that I feel everyone should watch called 'The Never Ending Story'. In this movie, something called 'The Nothing' threatens to totally wipe out Fantasia, a world created by the imagination of kids.
The whole story is based on a big word called 'Anthroposophy' which you can Google for more information. (Not gonna bore you with it here, this article is reserved for trolling the Afans again).
Anyhoo. Reading the Afan comments lately, it occurs to me more and more that Afans (Atheist Fanatics) are like the Gmork - A Werewolf thingie in the movie who is an agent of 'The Nothing'.
I always thought that Atheists were a harmless bunch who were simply content with their Sunday morning braai or babbalas and left the church activities to the religious nutters.
Boy was I wrong.
Internet Atheists are like a swarm of Bees, all over anything that smells like Fantasia. Like the Gmork, they bare their fangs and launch viscous attacks on anything that stands in the path of 'The Nothing'.
They will not rest until every human being believes in the lifeless religion of 'fact', a perception based myth with no room for hope or faith.
When mankind walk the streets like Zombies, devoid of imagination and spiritual zeal, pessimistic and disillusioned with life... then shall the Afans be happy.
"Let us believe in nothing, let us hope in nothing, let us be evangelists for 'The Nothing'".
Dear Afan: If you are successful in ushering in the reign of your God: 'The Nothing', what alternative do you offer?
I desire to raise my kids with a strong moral compass. I want them passionate about making the world a better place for them having been in it. I want them to believe in something far greater than themselves, that they are a part of a massive interconnected family that cannot isolate its pain. That when one family member suffers, the entire family suffers.
I know that your religion is efficient at pulling down the walls of other religions.
Tell me what The Nothing has to offer in an attempt to make the world a better place. If you are good people, I don't know it because all I see are savage, insensitive Gmorks with fangs.
You may be wonderful in another world but here you do nothing but rip and slash. Are you all Gmorks or is there something more?
Do we embrace 'The Nothing' and live a life of ripping other religions to shreds or is there some kind of freedom in your religion?
What do you have to offer other than venom?
Until you have real answers, filled with love, respect and true acceptance, none of us will hear your voice. All we hear is growling and hissing. None of us speak Gmork.
