Atheist Mega-Churches – LOL!!!
Well, well, well, what do you know? Seems the chickens have finally come home to roost for the atheist religion-denialists here on News24.
For years it’s been said, and rightly so, that atheism is the newest fledgling religion that seems to be garnering quite a little militant following. Yes ladies and gents, with or without God, a religion with zealot devotees, who’s passion for the new religion gives traditional religious observers a solid run for their money (excuse the pun).
Which brings me to my point. Yesterday News24 published the following article:
Seems that atheism has also jumped on the money-making bandwagon to finally (and officially) declare the launch of atheist mega-churches worldwide. This new brand of atheist religion seems to be gaining a bit of momentum, where zealout and religious atheists from across the globe congregate (like regular church goers I might add), and observe their own atheist codes of conduct and celebrations, except without any recognised deity.
So it’s atheist church, without God, if that makes any sense whatsoever…
These new atheist mega-churches have set their sights on money, errr, I mean fundraising; targeting a mouth-watering $ 800 000 dollars in order to launch more atheist churches and to further spread the atheist gospel.
The idea of making loads of money off unsuspecting religious devotees is simply too good an opportunity to pass up, it seems.
I suppose an overdue, ‘welcome to the atheist religion’ is in order?
I’d be interested to see how this fledging religion grows from here. Today’s it’s all Happy-Clappy, Kumbaya my Dawkins, collect all the atheist tithes, but what about tomorrow? Will atheism be able to offer mankind any hope? Any future? Any destiny?
Let’s watch these atheist mega-churches with a wary eye and healthy dose of scepticism. It’s only fair.
