Atheist vs. Christian debate

31 July 2013, 11:24

I see that there is a scheduled online debate for Atheists and Christians this weekend.

I can picture the scene;  everyone 'dials in', notes in hand and adrenalin already pumping, muscles flexing (on a Saturday I might add) to give their somewhat forceful opinion as to who is right and who is wrong. It will more than likely start off polite, however will slowly reduce to fists pounding desks, shouting and tempers flaring. Those with the strongest speaking voices overpowering everyone else. The result – people will withdraw from the debate and spend the rest of the weekend stomping around playing it over and over in their minds. I should have said this and responded with that. An unmitigated disaster for sure! Plus the fact that their weekend is officially totally and utterly ruined.....

For crying out loud people, give it a rest.

Do you really care what other people believe in?

I could care less whether you are an Atheist, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Jain, Pagan or Christian, if I like you and your character appeals to me, you are most welcome into my house. I for one couldn’t give a hoot what you believe, provided that you never EVER try and force any of it down my throat.

Personally I would rather believe in the Ancient Egyptians and cry out to all the Pharoahs of Egypt as well as Isis, Osiris and Horus to come to my rescue when I see mere mortals arguing over such inane issues that will never be agreed upon.

Practice some tolerance people – I bet you will live longer.

Majority poverty
