Set up
Upon the bombings in Kabul this week and the man using the bible to justify rapping his daughter, I noticed some interesting trends happening in the comment sections.
Back drop
As with any religion you get two main groups. Conservatives, that keep mostly to themselves, and then you get the extremists. This is the person that will force his religion upon you, and call you stupid if you disagree. In reading the comments, I have seen that two main groups of people attack each other constantly. These are the extreme Christians and the extreme atheists. Each trying valiantly to 'prove' there point, and to change the other parties mind. We all know you won't be able to do so, but still these two groups persist.
Plot
What I picked up, as mentioned earlier, is the fact that the one party is missing from the bombing article comments. The group I am talking about is the atheists. Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to attack you, just trying to get perspective. Any article containing Christianity, and the war of the words begin. But articles containing Muslim, and the atheist crowd goes quiet. Is there any particular reason for this? Please sound off in the comments.
