Baby burnt in Hospital

16 July 2014, 12:19

When those that are under oath to care and protect fail us, that is when we know that the system has totally failed.

On the 18th of June 2014 my first grandchild was born in the Germiston Hospital. Two days later he had blisters on his hand, both knees and his left foot. Apparently the night staff, in their infinite wisdom, decided to put a heating pad on a newborn lying in an incubator.

This is when the "real" fun started. All of a sudden he had blood clots that will shoot through his heart at any time, then he a skin disease caused by Septicaemia and to top it off. Your Baby has Gangrene, let us amputate his legs.

Needless to say we got him out of there as quick as possible. We took him to a private Pediatrician who confirmed that the marks ARE burns. So NO Gangrene, NO bloodclots and NO skin disease. This tiny little boy has to go through fisiotherapy three times a day to relax the muscles in his legs.

Now I ask of you- where is the promised quality health care promised to us. You can not afford, for your health and safety to be without a medical plan in our Country any more
