Batho Pele … the right of the individual.
As standard policy within all government departments the principle of Batho Pele applies, or shall we say are suppose to be applied.
Unfortunately like in so many cases within the civil society, the principle exists in writing whereas when the need arises to implement it into practice it is conspicuously absent.
This is evidentiary of the fact where a situation arises where patients in a specific Hospital within Moutse (Philadelphia Hospital) are being subjected to conditions in which they are not fed, which right is enshrined in the Constitution of our Country and also being a basic human right that is a synergy as such.
Patients within the ambit of the Hospital, being the victims of the fact that the Hospital is logistically at fault to ensure and secure the services of a provider for this mandate, to provide patients with nutritional food while being medically cared for, yet in its logistics have neglected to have acted with efficiency and effectiveness in ensuring and contracting a service provider in this regard.
The status quo which therefore exists within the Hospital is to say atrocious where the families of patient are being held responsible to feed them as the Hospital has failed in its mandate to oblige.Once again the citizens of this country have been misled by political propaganda prior to the elections that promised a better life for all – and to vote for the party concerned only to be disillusioned within one month after the elections has been done and dusted
