So this is how it's like to be a woman. While we fighting with our inner selves wondering if we are beautiful enough, if people like us enough, if our bodies are accepted or sexy enough, having to deal with the miner things as well such as period pains, if the guys we like are noticing us and if we've done a good job trying hide all these questions behind our smiles. We then have to go through and deal with being betrayed, to a point that we end up hating and fighting each other as women, all this going on in one`s life, having to deal with being hurt by men, cheated on, beat, being a woman comes with these along with everything else huh? I mean, we give our all in relationships and yet our partners cheat on us, than we get beat at for asking about it that we sometimes refuse to sleep with them as a way of showing how in pain we are. Not that we succeed though because they show us how weak we are compared to them by forcing themselves into us. going in, out, changing positions; leaving us pregnant, or even left with a disease to live with... These infants that are inside us growing each day, and no one to tell why we hate them so bad or how they came into the world, We are forced to love them, it`s human nature for a woman to bond with her baby while she`s carrying him. This is what being a woman is all about, we are scared to walk around in a taxi rank trying to go somewhere wearing a short dress/skirt because we don’t know what will be done to us, having to grow up with no father figures so we are there seeking it in men we meet... no one told us how being a woman is going to be like. We find closure in make-up, shoes, clothes, shopping or even ice-cream. I love being a woman, but it pains seeing other women having to go through such painful events in their lives. We end up blaming them for all these. I watched the movie “For Coloured Girls” this other time and was taken, in fact i loved it. It is a good movie. Mr Tyler Perry got it right in reading us women, so many women can relate to the situations portrayed in the movie, the original narrator deserves applaud for a job well-done. I love being a woman, but no one ever told me that being a woman will be this tough. For any woman in a situation and don`t know how to go through, remember, you are strong and no one is stronger than a woman, nothing is.
This here is a poem from the movie “For Coloured Girls”
“Somebody/anybody Sing a black girl`s song Bring her out to know herself To know you But sing her rhythms Carin/ struggle/ hard times Sing her song of life She`s been dead so long
Closed in silence so long she doesn’t know the sound of her own voice her infinite beauty
She’s half-notes scattered without rhythm/ no tune Sing her sighs sing the song of her Possibilities Sing a righteous gospel...”
You are much stronger than you think. Keep your head up high.
