My beloved country

22 November 2010, 15:05  - William van Straten
It is a well deserved read every day for me to see what is happening in SA here where I am so far away from my beloved country.

I say it is my country because that is where I have been born and the only place I would love to live in peace and happiness; but this is not for every South African.

I have been out of the country since 2001 and in a Kingdom where all the people from the outside is saying “how can you go to such a dangerous place like Saudi Arabia”.

On the contrary it is such a crime free environment that it is almost unreal, where can you walk with your wife and son in the lowest class of town and not feel threatened by any person.

Here are no violent crimes; no high jacking; no car theft. Yes it is also not free of petty crime but any violence is dealt with swift and quick.

The traffic is madness but that is normal in most cities in the world.

To be honest I can’t wait for the day to return to SA but it is so sad to see that it is going further and further down the drain.

When will the people realise that we all have to work together and stop blaming “apartheid” for everything. It is so easy to say “I was oppressed”.
