Blaming apartheid for their screw ups is the ANC's stock explanation for everything, isn't it?
However, the legacy of the past is a two way street.
If apartheid can be blamed for all the ills - even when they are clearly caused by ANC policy and mismanagement - then the opposite must surely be true too?
If the piss poor education system and the health care farce, and the corrupt officials are all the fault of apartheid, then surely the successes must also be credited to apartheid?
Do we then thank the apartheid government for the World Cup? Do we give them credit for the gold medals we win at the olympics? Do we give them credit for everything that goes right in SA?
Because fair is fair, that's the flip side of this particular coin.
