Bleed the beloved country

15 February 2014, 13:37
I worry about the future of Our Country, I worry about the financial future of our country.News reports splash stories of gross financial misconduct in government, Massive expenditure and little to show for it.I am talking about our current financial situation here in good old SA.One has to question.. when will this wasteful expenditure come to an end?

When will people realise that money is bleeding out of every possible orifice that government can create? Our currency has devalued so badly over these past few years, and I personally do not see any recovery for a long time to come.Yes.. we can talk about global prices rising and falling.. but at the end of the day..

Our poor little South African Rand.. is worth very little on the global market. We are all aware of the recent Nkandla debacle, and that's just a small part. When will the wasteful spending stop? When our Country can barely sustain itself and has to ask for foreign aid??Our government talk about all the various achievements that have been reached up till now, But are they really substantial achievements?

We needed new roads, so instead of sourcing local companies to manage and maintain our new roads, they hand this over to a foreign company who will benefit massively. Now I ask you.. why?

Why not keep this money here at home, where it can be plowed back into the economy and benefit the Country? We read stories about government functions costing millions, and we the taxpayers have to foot the bill.If one keeps dipping into the cookie jar without filling it up.. there will be no more cookies.

South Africa is not a piggy bank with a bottomless pit, there is an end.. and it's that very end that worries me.I am not an economist, Just an average person.

Stop the bleeding, Save the Rand.
