Many of our parents tell us how difficult it was for them growing up and they cite many examples like apartheid, limited education, lack of bursaries and poverty.
One would hate to believe that there is a parent who does not want the best for their child.
Parents always tell their children to seize every opportunity given to them because in their youth, no such things existed and. That is called breaking the cycle.
We as young people of today no matter how wealthy you are, live a better life compared to that of our parents when they were growing up.
The responsibility lies on your shoulders to make sure that you too break the cycle by giving your children a better life than what you had. That is the only way that we as a people can prosper and leave not only a legacy of prosperity, but also a legacy of breaking the cycle.
You may have grown up being economically average, but the onus is on you to make sure that your children grow up above average, better yet wealthy so that although you were average growing up, you will be able to say that you grew up poor because you will now be wealthy along with your children.
However, in the pursuit to break the cycle, it is important to raise your children with stern discipline because without discipline, the pursuit will cease to exist.
