Did anyone else see a bright flash of brilliant white light over the city at about 11pm on Wednesday, 15th February?
It seemed to originate on the horizon and radiate out in a rainbow shape (arch shape) very quickly. Duration , probably 2 seconds. The flash lit the entire sky over Cape Town, as seen from Somerset West.
I will be interested to hear from anyone who might have seen it, either from within the Cape Town region, or from anywhere up to about a 50km or so radius from Cape Town.
I have no idea what caused it. Possibly a meteor explosion, or some other object entering the atmosphere.
A very odd sight. Never seen before.
