Everybody is running around trying to find someone to blame for the Bulls defeat at the hand of the Brumbies, they are blaming everyone except the one person who is totally responsible for the fiasco, the coach Frans Ludeke.
First of all he puts Vermaak on the bench and plays a out of form Hougaard, the previous game Vermaak played a blinder,Hougaard played a poor game his clearance of the ball was slow, his kicking behind the scrum was bad and without any plan. The worst decision that he made was to play Dean Greyling the whole year he has been under pressure in the scrum,White knew this and targeted him,the result was the Bulls scrum was a shambles, this put the whole team on the back foot,Mellet is a young player but is a much stronger scrummager than Greyling, when he came onto the park the scrum became stable. The next blunder he made was to replace the best forward in the Bulls team, J Pogieter he was a candidate for man of the match, the decision had no merit.
Than the big talking point should Dewald have gone for the 3 points 15 minutes from full time or not,he makes the worst decision of his life and goes for a line out to drive the ball over the try line with a pack of forwards that are under pressure,he does it a second and a third time, then Ludeke starts shouting, 5 minutes from full time to go for the 3 points, after the match he makes a statement stating that he does not agree with the captains decision, but respects it.
Did he not have contact with the players on the field,it was the coach's call to inform the captain he must go for the points,if he did not he is passing the buck and shifting the blame to someone else,if he could not make contact then he is to blame for the unprofessional state of affairs.
