We cannot as South Africans allow the kind of treatment that was exhibited in the Delmas Magistrate's court by the Volksraad Verkiesing Kommissie (VVK).
The burning of the South African flag, which is a symbol of pride and belonging of All South Africans, should be condemned at all cost. It is an insult to the Country, the democracy and the Freedom this country fought for over the years.
As much as we understand the anger and frustration by the VVK on the senseless killings of Margrietha de Goede, 66 and baby Wiehan Botes in Delmas, which must be condemned and rebuked, We must shy away from destroying the symbols of our country and fight together to protect the lives of our elderly, women and men, and the children of this country.
We should voice our frustrations in a manner that does not bring our country into disrepute or tear it down but also convey a strong message to the criminals and murders that their activities will never be tolerated and justice will be served on them. We should urge the Public, Police and the Justice department to work hand in hand and apprehend these murderers, criminals and scoundrels and brought to justice for the safety of our People.
