Take a good look at the creation story, whether you believe it or not, the fact that there is a supreme power that made all things and is responsible for the state of all things cannot be debunked.
I write because I have seen on so many occasions, the drag which has ensued between the supreme creator and the created on the subject of life (the ultimate gift of the creator: God).
A very beautiful story is recorded in the book of Genesis, how He “God” made man from the dust of the earth. But man’s existence wasn’t spontaneous to the cohesion of dust; He breathed into him the breath of life.
Man in his attempt to delve into the minutest resource of intelligence has created robots and the likes, yet none of his makings can compare to the complexity of the Human.
I said earlier that When God made man, he gave him the breath of His nostril, and this is what makes man different from a stick of wood or any other natural phenomenon.
Therefore, when a man makes attempts to destroy the sacred life God has given him, he inadvertently mocks God.
I speak of the spate of suicides around the world today, such that even in Nigeria where her citizens would scarcely even nurture such a ludicrous idea owing to their industriousness and dogged approach to life have now joined the trend.
A Nigerian would hardly give out no matter what the condition that made the proverbial “crayfish” bend. May be because he is used to the economic situation of the country which has hardly favoured the masses or has come to terms with the fact that anything goes between the government and her people.
Recently, I reckoned with two incidents of student suicide, in each case, they were in a higher institution of learning. This is, amongst other instances in the country which I may not mention.
But the truth is that, no situation has escalated to the point that one would consider that mocking God is a good alternative. The life we live is a sacred one whose giver and manufacturer is God.
In this scenario, we had occasion to attend a program and everyone needed to look smart. So, I offered my attendant a sophisticated dress to wear and in the process of wearing it, he got himself entangled in the nooks of the dress. Instead of seeking help from me, he resigned himself to a corner all bursting with anger as he tore the dress.
Or better still; a man buys a product for so much, uses it for some time and owing to disuse or abuse, the product malfunctions, he then destroys it without seeking repairs.
This analogy may not be commensurate or befitting but the anchor matter is; God is the giver of live and holds the master guide to any issues of life and like a manufacturer, he holds the key to every man’s purpose for living.
STOP! The suicide,
STOP! Considering it,
It is a mockery of God.
