Can the press be trusted or are people all idiots.
Last week a woman was raped in Nelspruit, The local press went with 17 year old raped in Joubert street as a headline in their online newspaper and social media. The facts were released recently, A 23 year old woman was raped in Hunter Street. The rape is no less horrifying for all the bumbling and lack of professionalism shown by the reporters and the paper.
I have previously written about this paper and their attention to detail and absolute need for sensation, Publishing innuendo, hearsay and rumours just proves that not one word published by this rag is to be trusted.
But worse than this a local security company wrote on a social media site that this was OK because the rape occurred.
Oscar Pistorius's case is having exactly the same effect on the attention seeking gutter press, every innuendo, every rumour and every bit of hearsay is being published purely for sensationalism.
And the stupids are lapping it up gleefully.
