Can’t fight against the youth, Cause we’re strong.

05 October 2012, 10:15

I am a frequent reader of News24 and MyNews24, I think it’s great that everyone can express their opinions on numerous topics i.e. Politics, Religion, Drugs, Inflating prices and so on. That being said I think it’s time that I shared a few thoughts of my own that some of the intelligent and enlightened individuals could maybe add and augment to what I am trying to portray. I would include my demographics, which for the intellectuals would provide some more insight on where my views are coming from, but I know the trolls will read my specs and make some half arse comment to prove they really are imbeciles without absorbing the full article. Let me just say I am part of generation Y. The generation which witnessed the fall of apartheid, the rise of technology, the inutility of religion and the true evil of currency. We are the offspring of the rebellious Generation X and have something completely different to add to the party.

I believe that everything that is happening right now is exactly the way it is supposed to be, and this statement is not easy for me to pronounce because like everyone else I am also feeling the disequilibrium in our modern society.  I want to get caught up on all the bickering about inequality, lack of respect, racism and corruption which is shoved in our faces on a daily basis, but I know it is merely focussing on the negative and my participation will amount to nothing.  I know deep down that all this stuff MUST happen and I feel privileged that my generation can experience all of this stuff first hand.  True!, majority of us are glued to our phones and spend more time on facebook than we do sleeping. BUT our potential is much more than it appears to be at this given time. When the time comes (and it will) I am more than confident we will be able to step up to the plate and actually provide the solutions that are needed. The evils of war will eventually die off (no thanks to increased life expectancies) and the majority will be able to live with their daily basics and have the potential to reach out to others. We are highly intelligent, better connected than any generation preceding us and in all honesty we are tired of all the problems that are arising and never ending. Soon this laborious system which has been created by centuries of ignorance will come crashing down and who will be the ones picking up the pieces?

Just to give you an example, why do you think the ANC is trying so hard to jeopardise education at the moment. They want to keep the old system in place and stop the change which is already taking place. They are scared, and they should be. Once we have the power to implement the necessary change ALL people doing more harm than good will be nothing more than outcasts. This is by no means wishful thinking, this is the reality. I will agree that majority of the youth at the moment, especially in South Africa are misinformed uneducated delinquents who expect hand-outs without putting in any considerable amount of effort(ANCYL), but that is because they are still being led by a dictatorship with no absolute moral. These dictators only want to satisfy there ever increasing greed and will do whatever it takes.

Change will happen because the opportunity is there, the energy is there and this current system will inevitably fail. So go ahead, criticise as much as you like. Show how ignorant you really are, or help build the foundations so that the generations to come  can shine in their own brilliance and help humanity reach it’s true potential. It all starts with a thought; we all have the will to make a change. No more shall religion, race, gender and currency separate us from our true goal. Not goals of personal gain but the goals for peace. To benefit the greater of all who inhabit our beautiful country and our marvellous planet.

You can make a difference and that is to help the youth realise their real potential and to uplift them, instead of forcing the filth of the past on them. I have come to terms with the fact that we still have a long way to actually experience true equality, it may not be in my lifetime, but I will sure work damn hard so that the generations to come can have a life worth living. In the midst of all this chaos you can find comfort in that majority of the youth don’t care about race, religion, status or wealth. It only appears that way because we have been forced to live in a world riddled with guilt, greed and lies. We are merely adapting for the time being. Thankfully a new era is on the horizon.

Thank you for taking the time to read my article and please start making a difference instead of empowering those doing the most harm. To those of you making the difference, thank you. All of this is possible because of you.
