Cape Town - The Western Cape has experienced some of the strongest winds over the last few days, with some places witnessing roofs being blown off, gardens destroyed and people blown all over the place on Friday.

Many people took to Twitter to share their different experiences, and the kind of damage that the wind had brought.

We have put together some of the funniest tweets.

'Flip, a couch just blew across the street in front of me. The Cape Town wind takes no prisoners!' Guy Veysey tweeted earlier in the morning.

'Cape Town wind so bad SPCA issued 10 kg pet warning. Could turn your Chihuahua into a kite. LOL' Stefano Gallotta followed with another tweet.

Kelsey Wiens was not really pleased with what she encountered outside: 'Cape Town we need to talk. The deal was I move back here and you give me the summer of my life, wind wasn't invited.', she tweeted.

Staff at La Mouette Restaurant in Sea Point also had more than they had bargained for, when they came in to start the day.

'If anyone sees a big perspex sign that says La Mouette Restaurant blowing around somewhere, kindly return to 78 Regent Road (sic)', they tweeted, appealing to anyone who had seen their sign that 'was bolted to steel, and measured 3m x 1.5m', before being blown away by the wind.
