Carbon Footprint....Global warming...

28 February 2013, 07:22

I am not a scientist...or an environmentalist, bunny hugger, greeny, etc, etc, whatever names are given these days to "the politically correct" people who are telling doomsday stories about how close earth is from self destructing due to the explosion of the human race, and hence, the abuse of our planet. I am just a plain, hopefully "normal", realistic, human being.

Carbon footprints are being "calculated" ( hehehehe...) and monetary value is being coupled to this "revelation". They also predict that the earth is going to turn into a "hot potato" with floods (alledgedly from the pole caps melting) and fire-n-brimstone....In SA we are already being taxed (example: vehicles taxed for the so-called carbon emmisions, etc)....

What a load of absolute poppycock!!! Where does the "carbon tax" go, and what is it used for? No one can answer me. Maar "kak en betaal", that's the motto!! Temperatures fluctuate. It is a "scientific fact", and will continue to do so into the future, however long that may be. These temperatures are cyclic, and will differ from year to year, decade to decade, eon to eon...get my drift? But because we now have very "clever" people, who can pinpoint a 1.5 degrees in temperatures rising over the next 50 years (but we can't predict tomorrows temperatures accurately??? WTF)....we are DOOMED! Which sane person believes in all of this???

However. I DO believe we should look after our earth. I DO believe we should recycle, prevent pollution, save the whale, plant more trees, preserve our nature, etc etc etc. But let's do this with a bit of common sense....

Our government has some imbesiles in high places (that's democracy folks...nothing you can do about it...except vote right next time), who hear the bell ringing somewhere, but does not know where the "lelletjie" is hanging, who got onto the band wagon, and now are charging a new "carbon tax". They forget that the earth itself, volcanoes, fires, sponcom, animal farts (this was a good one), all generate carbon dioxide (CO2), which is incalculable. CO2 is used by plants to grow and produces oxygen (O2) of which we breathe about 79%, and carbon (C) what we can see as wood, grass, weat, flowers, bark, etc.

So how will we (human race) benefit by reducing CO2 emissions.....if all we will be doing is starving the earth from elements it needs to live off?
