I was going to entitle the message, “The Deluded Christian” but after reading some good ol’ messages locked up in my archives, I came to the realization that it is not the Christian that is deluded. Since my last posting, I’ve gone away and done some of my own research – yes, I went and like the good schoolboy Christian, I kept to my word and investigated science a little bit more (sorry, I tried the scientific terms; they just did not work for me) and I looked at the whole inconsistency Bible things too. I even looked at a very remarkable discovery called Candidatus Desulforudis audaxviator (http://discovermagazine.com/2012/jul-aug/06-tullis-onstott-2-miles-down-microbes-live-radiation/article_view?b_start:int=1&-C=)
I got close to thinking, “Hey, maybe these atheists are right. Maybe there is no god (small letters because there are millions of gods out there – compared to the limited number mentioned on these forums – really shows the lack of knowledge of some) and just living life based on my own corrupt “if it feels right it is right” moral standards is the way to go.”
But it amazes me how God works – yes, it was God – He never lets me go. Even you atheists who say, “Been there, done that, and I became an atheist after that” – guess what, God hasn’t let go off you too. He says so in His Word, “If we {talking to the born again Christians here} believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.” (And just by the way, those who say “They were Christian”- you still are Christian. At the judgment seat you will not be judged as an unbeliever, but as a believer who turned away from the knowledge of Christ)
Getting back to my journey, a complete stranger came my way, two actually, that showed me just how amazing God is. One person (who I have not met, just spoke to via e-mail in the past 2 weeks) shared where the Bible comes from and a whole lot more with me (which just gave me full confidence in His infallible Word).
And somebody else, who has never met me, does not know me from a bar of soap, suddenly found herself praying for me and then, to add more mystery to the tale, meets my mother (who she never knew either until a few weeks ago) and tells her, “God told me to pray for your son.” At a time when I was doubting God, He knew I needed the prayers of the saints.
So I prayed for the guys on News24 – the Christian and the atheists, and God said, “Stop throwing pearls to the swine.” You know, I wish my fellow Christians would just heed the Word of God on this one, “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” Now a discerning Christian would know that this verse fits perfectly to what these News24 forums have been all about.
But here’s the fact: It is NOT our responsibility to defend God. Nowhere in the Bible does it ask us to defend God. JESUS did not defend God – He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. We are asked to preach the good news of salvation and to fight the good fight of faith (now, please, Bible says our war is spiritual, not carnal – don’t go start shooting up the neighbourhood). That’s it. Nothing fancy. The simplicity of the Word of God.
Then read Luke 10 – here’s what JESUS said, “But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.” In other words … move on from news24 – you are throwing pearls to swine.
Let the atheist post all the “knowledge” they want on here. The priests and the Pharisees came with all their “knowledge” as well – it did not help them; the veil in the temple was torn in two, Jesus arose from the dead. Their knowledge did not help them; did not get them very far.
Guess what? The wicked mocked Noah. The wicked Pharisees and priests mocked Jesus. Hey, God’s OWN children built a golden calf because they wanted to “see” God! Guess what – you ain’t gonna see God with your physical eyes – God is a spirit. There is no “Hey, there’s God!” news for you people. JESUS came in the flesh, and the world did not know Him then. Two thousand years later, and you think people today are going to believe if they see?
News24 is just one website that reaches a select group of people – there’s a harvest out there waiting to be reaped; waiting for real men and women of God that will stand in the gap for the nations, that will go forth and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. So stop throwing your pearls to swine.
Get into the purpose and the plans that God has for your life – the real purpose; instead of wasting your time here.
I end this message on this note (to both the atheist, to tell them the superiority of faith over science; and to my Christian brothers and sisters to strengthen your faith) -
The Christian does not dispute science. Scientific laws exist. They are there for a reason. A Christian would be stupid into thinking that scientific laws do not exist.
BUT … faith is not confined (boxed, limited, or subject to) to scientific laws. Faith does not come with an “=” sign. And guess what … if I have enough faith, I can defy (and have defied) scientific laws (even medicinal). It’s happened enough times in the Bible, it’s happened enough times after the death and resurrection of JESUS, and it’s happened enough times in my life and in the lives of many other Christians.
I am done throwing pearls to the swine. I’m off to the harvest field (For those who do not understand this – it means, do not expect a reply from me; if you want a debate or a discussion, you ain’t gonna get it. No, I’m not running from the debate – I’m being obedient to a living God who speaks to me).
