Instead of speaking about Nelson Mandela's wonderful memories that I know many around South Africa and the world would greatly cover, I'd like to mention how as a country we should grow from this.
South Africa needs to celebrate Nelson Mandela's life.
Globally this great man is being celebrated.
Not only South Africa, but the world can become a better place if we all follow Nelson Mandela's way.
Our beautiful country that's full of potential can go 1 of 3 ways:
1. Continue in the direction it's heading, which isn't pleasing.
2. Or further divide due to ignorance and stupidity.
3. Or unite as the Rainbow Nation that Nelson Mandela created. An accomplishment only after so much sacrifice. South Africa can become a very powerful & successful country if all South African's walk in Nelson Mandela's great footsteps.
As a country we should be so much further than where we are because of what Nelson Mandela has fought his whole life for, but due to a lack of wisdom we haven't progressed.
Many politicians are speaking of Nelson Mandela's sacrifices and accomplishments and how great as a person he was and how we should all thrive to be more like him, yet those same politicians contradict themselves by doing the total opposite of what Nelson Mandela worked so long and hard for.
Ignorant South African's that are still using the apartheid/racism trump card after almost 20 years need to wise up and take that step in the right direction, a direction that would please Nelson Mandela.
It is said that "Love" is the strongest emotion, and nobody displayed that better than Nelson Mandela. To go through what he did (we all know his story) and still come out of prison with so much compassion, only a God-sent person can do that. Instead of retribution he chose reconciliation. Only a very special person can do that.
People, especially South African's, should take a significant lesson from this great man's love towards humanity.
Forever Mandela Day!
