The civilization that was created by us and our 'leaders' is a miserable failure on many fronts. There are wars yes, but why are they fought and what does the dog do with the car once it has caught it? Both the reasons for these wars as well as the aftermath are under suspicion in recent times.
Politicians are becoming wealthy on state salaries...or are they? Where does this wealth emanate from? What really drives the world's political policy and are those things that we regard as being dear really precious? Are we just conditioned to accept it? And why? These are just some of the questions the mind explores.
The main difficulty lies in defining the problem. Einstein gave this thorough consideration and amongst the many things that he said about it he also said that “The formulation of a problem is often more essential than its solution, which may be merely a matter of mathematical or experimental skill”.
Unless there is a sinister plot by very powerful people then there is nobody who can claim to have perfect knowledge of the State of Civilization. However, I believe that the time has come for every man and woman to take stock of our civilization and to identify what ills it. Some of the answers may be shocking or surprising but, if we are going to survive as free people, these would have to be dealt with in a constructive manner. History has shown us, right there in South Africa, that quantum leaps are possible. Furthermore, the South African experience has also shown that these 'miraculous' quantum leaps can end in failure if there is no accountability. These lessons should and must be learned.
For example: governments have a right to gather taxes and to pass laws. The social contract between the People and the governments are that these taxes should be applied to the betterment of the People and not to build ZAR 208 million mansions for powerful politicians. In this case the contracts is no longer valid and it is the right of the People to demand a new contract and compensation. This is the essence of a democracy. However, if the People's interests are represented by the same people who enrich themselves from it then it is clear that this form of democracy cannot succeed.
Similarly, when the governments pass laws that make it illegal to illuminate corruption in government then the contract is invalidated. The People can not be excluded from the inner workings of the governments since the governments are of themselves institutions of the People. The exclusion here is that specific knowledge would endanger the People from external threats and that such knowledge would therefore need to be protected under law. I fail to see how the corrupt practices of politicians can be less harmful to the People than the knowledge thereof. Maybe to the individual concerned yes but not to the People.
When a country or countries (i.e. the USA and it's allies) drum up a fictitious reason to attack another country (Iraq and Afghanistan) then it is the right of the people to demand retribution or compensation. When the affected party is Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan then that compensation will, unfortunately and inevitably, be misappropriated. In fact, the people of Afghanistan are resigned to corruption and experience it as a part of daily life. There is a Ruling Class which is using us as canon fodder.
There has never been nor is there still a greater dividing force than that of religion. Good people will blow others and themselves up for it. Good people will invent reasons to go to war over it. Good people will occupy other peoples' land in the name of religion. Good people will stand idly by while atrocities are committed in the name of god.
The issue of religion is as contentious as religion itself. I have little doubt that this divide will continue to exist for decades and even centuries to come. It is my view that the shackles of self-inflicted inferiority, fear and regret are a necessity for some people that enables them to cope; albeit as victims in this world. Furthermore, that this belief system is so ingrained that it has practically permeated to the genetic level. It is a habit that would be hard to break. To these great many people we can only offer the words of Einstein “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it”.
These are some of the difficulties in the path of the creation of a New World Order. We must start to address these and, equally importantly, to begin to envisage the world that we want to see eventuate. That is the first creation.
We need a new form of government as capitalism and democracy is a failure. America and Europe may not think so but that is because their politicians have already sold the ground from under their feet and their People do not want to believe it. But ask Greece, Iceland, Cyprus, Ireland, Spain and the millions of people who lost their livelihoods to traders on the stock markets. They will tell you...
Wake up! People. There is a whole New World waiting for us to discover it and be sure that it is not in the Ruling Class' interest for you to know about it.
