Coal, gas or nuclear? None of these!

17 March 2014, 10:03

With reference to the article:

Coal, gas or nuclear? S Africa must decide

http://www.news24.com/Green/News/Coal-gas-or-nuclear-S-Africa-must-decide-20140316

None of the above!

The future lies in solar power as we now have in Upington, which should be extended throughout the Karoo. You can read about it here:

N Cape solar projects steaming ahead

Perhaps less attention on fracking which destroys the groundwater and the health of those living in and near the area, and more attention paid to real natural resources that instead of costing billions and burdening the tax payer, will provide clean, affordable and eco friendly electricity.

Solar power will also boost the economy in the small business sector and make people energy independent from highly expensive, polluting and dangerous systems that should have been replaced long ago.

Solar is not the only solution, inventors all over the world are coming up with many ideas and the large corporates will no longer be able to hold the public or countries to ransom.

More and more the human race will become energy independent instead of energy reliant on cumbersome, unreliable and overly expensive hegemonic providers of energy. If anything the government should be investing in the training and development of small business models based on solar and new innovation, literally handing the power back to the people. Here is one example of many:

Brazilian Inventors Bring Free Energy Device to Market-

http://www.zengardner.com/brazilian-inventors-bring-free-energy-device-to-market/

This is not only about South Africa Chris, this is worldwide and the face of energy will change in the next 20 - 30 years. Not only with energy but in many other areas as well. Large corporate structures providing electricity, water and food will be things of the past. Homes and businesses with become self sustaining systems. The same goes for large office blocks. The internet in many cases makes it unnessesary to go into an "office,"more and more people will be home based. Three D printing will also completely change what was been the industrial age and the factory floor. What once took 500 workers now takes three technicians.

It is time to move out of the 20th century and into the 21st. Coal, gas and nuclear belong to our polluting debt slave past, held to ransom by corporations and government for our basic needs.  They do not belong not to our eco friendly, safe, affordable and self empowered future.
