Is this democracy
After the release of the Public Protector report am left in a dilemma as to where my vote will go look at the reaction of some of my brothers and sisters in the Acme as an ordinary member of the ANC.
Mr Mantashe made good comments, saying they accept the findings of the report that was very good. He said they will visit Nkandla to see themselves, although I think they should have done that long time ago. Its true that some of upgrades were not security related even according to me.
On the other side, the woman’s league in a meeting in Potchefstroom was saying something different, saying hands off our president, maybe they say there is conspiracy against Mr Zuma,or its right for the president to build swimming pool, cattle kraal and spaza shops with my money as a taxpayer.
The ANC youth league also was defending the president, even they cannot wait to see back of the public protector in her office, doing what they did to former president Mr Mbeki. As well as Cosas and Buti Manamela of SACP accusing the Public Protector of being used by the opposition parties mostly DA.The fact is, its going to take many years if the matter goes to court before it comes to finality.
One thing that I noted interesting about the report it said Mr Zuma should have intervened in 2009 when the news started coming out about Zumaville.Clearly it shows that he saw nothing wrong, that leaves me doubtful about his leadership ability.
Mr Zuma was removed from his duties by former president Mr T Mbeki as result of allegations on corruption on the arms deal. Many people accused Mbeki of bias but he wanted the man next to him to be clean and must be an example to the nation. How can you fight corruption if you are always on allegations even yourself.
The comments by some of my comrades leaves me in a dilemma as to who to vote for in 2014.Can I trust them as my comrades to fight corruption, or are they covering up. What is important about the report, is it the facts it or is it about defending Mr Zuma.Lets wait and see
