I BEG TO DIFFER !!!
According to Mondli Makhanya in his article today in the Daily Dispatch as he titled it above, that we South Africans are not mixing together???
I am a white South African and was born here in the apartheid era, 1970 to be exact. I certainly did not agree to apartheid, yet it was the law, it was wrong and always will be in my personal opinion. The abolishing of apartheid should have been dealt with before I was born, in fact their should never ever have been apartheid, but because of EVIL government officials who were in power to exercise unrighteous dominion over the majority population in South Africa deemed it correct for all, which is shameful and wrong !Coming back to the article written by Mondli Makhanya, I have to say that I totally disagree to the fact that we are not a rainbow nation !!! Has Mondli forgotten the World Cup Soccer here in our very own backyard, and how we all UNITED together as South Africans in the beautiful game called Football. It was beautiful to watch all over our country in various parts of our provinces how Black and white, coloreds, Asians ( In fact South Africans) embraced each other and supported our Pride of the Nation football stars even though 95% was black with two or three white faces in the National team.
It is a matter of personal choice when it comes to sport. Just because I don't support kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates does not mean that I don't mix with my fellow brother and sisters in this Beautiful Country of ours. How many blacks for that matter don't support any soccer at all and support the Proteas in Cricket or possibly the Bokke in rugby ! No, Mr Mondli you have it completely wrong here.......We are a rainbow nation and we all have our personal interests in Sport, Politics, Social, Family, cultures, Music and whatever else we associate ourselves with.
I invite you Mr Mondli to visit with the Latter Day Saints in their church services throughout South Africa and see for yourself a Rainbow Nation that our dear Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu refers to, It does exist, and in the very sport you mention in your article too.
We Mix, we work together and even live next to each other and yet you say we "still not mixing together" ???
NO ! Mr Mondli I think it is you that is not mixing together with the Minority white South Africans.
